Troy to Chicago on Amtrak

Amtrak is a rail road service in America. It was founded in 1971 as a quasi Public Corporation. It provides long distance, intercity and interstate services. The train also carries the passengers to nine cities in Canada. Amtrak owns more than 300 trains and travels to reach more than 500 destinations. (wikipedia).

I felt that if single person is traveling long distance it is best to go by Amtrak. There is catergorisation of coach cars (in India we call coach or compartments, in US they are called as cars) as first class, sleeper, business and coach class. Tickets should be booked early to get accommodated. I travelled in the coach class. The seats are comfortable with enough leg space. There will be kitchen from where passengers can buy beverages and other food items.

I traveled twice from Troy to Chicago. First time it was in the last week of December 2018. It was interesting to watch suburbs and villages, all in snow, through the window. When I travelled in April 2019, weather was good. I loved the scenery around, lakes and streams, greenery and reflections.

Here are few pictures I captured looking through the window.
