Striped Tiger

This butterfly with tawny wings marked with broad black bands resembles monarch butterfly of America.  The margins of wings are black with white dots.  Its distribution is similar to that of plain tiger butterfly and is seen in India, Srilanka, Myanmar, SE Asia and Australia.  Like plain tiger it is unpalatable and can fake death.

The other tiger butterflies are

Blue tiger (Tirumala liminiaca)

 Dark blue tiger (Tirumala septentrionis)
